S T A R (Rotti)
Star is a bundle of energy and an a great ambassador for her breed she is our
Dog of the Month having been through so much
at such a young age!
Star was diagnosed with bilateral elbow displasia at just 5 months old and had surgery to both front legs. Following surgery she was then not allowed to go out for walks, run, jump or climb for 6-12 weeks! Any one can imagine what hard work that was for her mummy and daddy and how frustrating it was for such a young pup.
Star was eventually given the all clear and referred for hydrotherapy to strengthen her muscles. This is a dog who lives by the sea and is terrified of lapping water and walks around puddles! Star was coaxed into the hydro pool weekly for the first few months and now she tolerates fortnightly sessions.
At just over a year old Star also had a horrid accident with a metal lead clip which got stuck in the web space between her toes and having such a huge fear of the vets from all her ordeals as a puppy had to be sedated to have it removed.
Star adores her Auntys at wagNwalkies and comes to regular Daycare and out with the rural walking groups. wagNwalkies are also working with her Mummy & Daddy to help ensure that any future unexpected vet visits aren’t a huge ordeal for Star and in so doing we are confidnet she will again in months to come be Dog of the Month again.
